Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th as the son of the customs officer Alois Hitler (until 1877 Schicklgruber) and his wife Klara (née Pölzl) in Braunau am Inn (Upper Austria). After his mother's death on December 21st 1907, Adolf Hitler moved to Vienna, where he applied to the art academy twice, but was unsuccessful. After being able to live off his inheritance for a while, he made ends meet as an "architectural painter" without a permanent residence and finally lived in a men's hostel. On September 12th, Hitler attended a meeting of the German Workers' Party (DAP) and joined the party a few days later. On October 16th, he gave his first political speech to members of the DAP. On February 24th 1920, Hitler spoke for the first time in front of more than a thousand listeners in the Hofbräuhaus. At the meeting, he also announced the party's 25-point program, which formally remained in effect for a quarter of a century, until the collapse of the NSDAP. A few days later, the "German Workers' Party" changed its name to the "National Socialist Workers' Party of Germany". On March 31, 1920, Hitler was discharged from the Reichswehr and devoted himself to political agitation within the NSDAP. Having become indispensable as a propaganda speaker for the NSDAP, Hitler succeeded in taking over the leadership of the party with dictatorial powers at an extraordinary general meeting of the party on July 29. The first Reich Party Congress of the NSDAP took place in Munich from January 27 to 29. ------- Chapters ▷ 00:00 - Intro ▷ 01:08 - A ne'er-do-well, 1889 - 1913 ▷ 17:47 - A private, 1914 - 1918 ▷ 25:42 - A popular speaker, 1918 - 1923 ▷ 32:10 - A revolutionary, 1923 - 1924 ▷ 40:44 - A party leader, 1925 - 1929 ▷ 50:24 - End credits #adolfhitler #hitler #secondworldwar ------- Watch all episodes in our playlist: https://bit.ly/hitler_chronik Subscribe to wocomoDEUTSCH: https://bit.ly/2VgSBml Follow us on Facebook: / wocomo ------- On November 9th Hitler initiates a coup in Munich. The "Hitler Putsch" is suppressed by government troops with armed force. The NSDAP is banned the following day. Hitler flees and is arrested two days later. On February 26, Hitler is charged with high treason before the Munich People's Court together with the coup participants Captain Ernst Röhm, General Erich Ludendorff and others and is ultimately sentenced to five years' imprisonment. Hitler uses the proceedings as a forum for his anti-republican agitation. On December 20, Hitler is released early from the Landsberg fortress, where he had begun writing his manifesto "Mein Kampf". The remaining sentence of "3 years, 333 days, 21 hours and 50 minutes", according to the official note, has been waived. On February 27, the NSDAP is re-founded. On April 30, Hitler is released from Austrian citizenship at his own request and has been stateless since then. The Bavarian government banned him from speaking in public, and the Prussian state government followed suit. After the ban on speaking in Bavaria was lifted, Hitler spoke in public for the first time on March 9. From August 16 to 21, 1927, the NSDAP held its third party conference in Nuremberg. From now on, all party conferences were held in Nuremberg. In the Reichstag elections on May 20, the NSDAP only received 2.6% of the vote and received twelve seats. For the first time since the ban on speaking in Prussia was lifted, Hitler spoke on November 16 in the Berlin Sportpalast in front of an alleged 18,000 supporters. And for the first time, he used an "electro-acoustic sound system". Despite the lack of political success, the party presented itself as a mass organization at the Nuremberg Reich Party Congress from August 1 to 4, 1929, and attracted a great deal of attention across the Reich.
