Rudaki, the great Iranian poet of the 3rd and 4th centuries of Hijri, is known as the father of Persian poetry. He was one of the first poets who wrote his poems in Persian language and with his unique skill in describing nature, love and life, he brought Persian literature to its peak. By composing beautiful and flowing odes and sonnets, Rudaki left a deep impression on the poets after him and became the founder of different poetic styles. He had a special place in the Samanian court and his works were noticed by the kings and scholars of that period.
