Existentialism and Confrontational Psychology: An Indigenous Psychology Path Speaker: Dr. Wang Xuefu Dr. Wang Xuefu received education in literature, theology, and psychology at universities at home and abroad, and has taught at universities. He is currently employed at Nanjing Confrontational Psychological Counseling Institute, engaged in professional psychological counseling. Influenced and inspired by Lu Xun's cultural thoughts and literary narratives, based on nearly thirty years of experience and thinking in psychological counseling, he pioneered the Confrontational Psychology method of Chinese indigenous cultural analysis and emotional narrative orientation. In the past two decades, Dr. Wang Xuefu has been committed to promoting the development of existential therapy in China and dialogue and cooperation with international peers. He was hailed as "China's Rollo May" by American existential-humanistic psychologist Louis Hoffman and others. In 2013, he was awarded the "Charlotte and Karl Buhler Award" by the Humanistic Psychology Society of the American Psychological Association (APA).
