Abdullah Al-Faki Al-Bashir, Development as Freedom: A Comparison between Mahmoud Mohamed Taha and Amartya Sen, moderated by Dr. Ilham Ezz El-Din, Book Club 81, Saturday, November 20, 2024. The approach revealed a great deal of agreement and similarity in ideas and opinions, to the point of resembling identity in many cases, which makes us stand, as we rediscover Taha’s intellectual project, before a vision characterized by scientific, original, rich, and revolutionary, in addition to its compatibility with reality. Taha’s vision preceded Sen’s vision by about five decades. Sen published his book in 1999. While Taha presented his vision since the early fifties of the last century, and it was a main focus in his writings and talks. The approach viewed the great similarity and agreement as a meeting between great minds, as the teacher is one, and he is God.
