The mansion in Dolná Mičina The mansion in Dolná Mičina is one of the most beautiful and perhaps the most neglected Renaissance monuments in our territory. It represents an unusual type of Renaissance manor house and is still quite undeservedly deserted. The mansion is located in the cadastre of the municipality of Dolná Mičiná and is built on a hill, strategically commanding a wide-spreading hilly romantic landscape, which at the same time forms a dominant feature of the municipality. The silhouette of the manor is already attracting the interest of visitors to the valley who come via the Banská Bystrica – Horná Mičiná – Sliač route. At the beginning of the 16th century, the Gothic artistic sensibility gradually disappeared in Slovak architecture and Renaissance elements prevailed. Italian architects who participated in the construction of anti-Turkish fortresses had an influence on the transformation of architecture: G. Ferarri, P. Ferrabosco, FG Pozzo and others. In the 16th century, the construction of manor houses took place, which had a fortification function. The manor house in Dolná Mičiná also belongs to such manor houses. http://www.dolnamicina.sk/zaujimavosti/
