We resolved to commit our will and our lives to the care of God, according to our own understanding of Him. 4. We fearlessly made a sincere and searching examination of conscience. 5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our faults. 6. We were entirely willing to have God remove all these defects of character. 7. We humbly asked God to deliver us from our faults. 8. We made a list of all persons whom we had wronged, and we were willing to make amends to them. 9. We made direct amends to such persons whenever possible, except where to do so would have inflicted further harm upon them or someone else. 10. We continued our examination of conscience, freely admitting our faults when we recognized them. 11. Through prayer and meditation we try to improve our conscious contact with God, asking only for the ability to recognize His will and the strength to fulfill it. 12. Having achieved a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our actions. Twelve Promises 1. We will have a new vision of freedom and happiness. 2. We will not have to regret the past or cowardly close the doors to it. 3. We will understand what the word Serenity means. 4. We will enjoy true peace. 5. No matter how low we have fallen, we will see how our experience can benefit other people. 5. The sense of worthlessness and self-pity that was previously locked away within us will disappear as if by magic. 5. We will no longer want to be selfish in our human relationships, and 6. We will take a keen interest in the misfortunes of our fellow men. 7.- We will not have to look for a compass to guide our path. 8.- Our attitude and perspective on life will be very different. 9.- We will no longer be afraid of the people around us and 10.- We will not despair when faced with economic insecurity. 11.- We will intuitively know how to take charge of complicated situations in which we previously felt disoriented. 12.- Very soon we will understand that God, as each of us understands Him, is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. #AA #4and5Step #MoralInventory #CharacterDefects #Addictions #Neurosis #Depression #Recovery #Alcoholism #12Steps #12Tradictions #12Concepts #Groups #AlcoholicsAnonymous #SelfHelp #Sponsorship #Experience #Treasury #SpiritualAwakening #12Promises #3Legacies #Bill #Bob #Study #BigBook #BlueBook
