The Louise-Otto-Peters School in Leipzig is one of over 30 climate schools in Saxony. This means that topics such as sustainability, climate change and climate protection are integrated into lessons and school life in a variety of ways. For example, the school purchased a balcony power plant and, as part of a special learning achievement, examined the energy-saving effects achieved with it. The school's overall energy consumption was also significantly reduced with the participation of the student body. In this way, the students learn about complex relationships and find out how they can play an effective role in protecting the climate through their personal behavior.
