Where did Musashi and Kojiro meet, what kind of lives have they led, why did they have to fight?... The human drama hidden behind the fight, the truth of the duel, the great battle that unfolded on "Ganryujima (Funajima)" floating in the Kanmon Straits, and the fierce battle are depicted as a spectacular and groundbreaking action period drama. This stage play will be performed as an original work (new work) with a new script created based on a new interpretation and new setting. The script is written by Makino Nozomi, who excels at deep descriptions and is adept at period dramas, and the director is Tsutsumi Yukihiko, who has produced a succession of large-scale spectacular entertainments and is renowned for his character creation. The two have produced hits such as "Sanada Ten Braves" and "Makai Tensho," and this time they have once again teamed up together to form a powerful team. The stage play "Ganryujima" will open on Friday, February 10th at Meijiza in Tokyo, and will travel to Kanazawa, Niigata, Akita, Nagoya, Kobe, Takamatsu, and Fukuoka, and will be performed in eight locations across the country. The lead role of Miyamoto Musashi will be played by Yokohama Ryusei, the number one young actor who is also outstanding in action scenes.
