It was gloomy spring weather, I drilled holes in search of perch, began to fish with a balancer and a spoon. I found an interesting relief, but there was no perch nearby and I decided to go further to drill new holes, look for fish, feed the holes and try to catch. The main goal was to catch live bait and place pike traps in promising places of the lake. I took an ice drill with a screwdriver with me, so I drilled holes without difficulty, although the ice was about 70 cm. I fed new holes and began to actively fish with a jig with a maggot. The perch pecked exclusively at the spoon, and the roach pecked at the jig, like from a machine gun. The fish liked the food, managed to catch enough fish and set out the tip-ups. Caught a lot of fish, live bait, got on the spring zhor. The day was long and while waiting for the pike to bite on the tip-ups, I decided to cook the caught fish right on the ice of the lake. This is the first time I have cooked like this, everything did not turn out as I wanted - but it turned out better, I did not expect such a result. After cooking the fish according to my grandmother's simple recipe, I decided to leave the tip-ups overnight, wait for the catch and continue to dine. Wonderful rich fish soup turned out, words cannot describe. Successful fishing 2024 in the spring on the first of April with a jig and tip-ups on one of the taiga lakes of Karelia.
