From the archive: This film from 2003 documents one of the most spectacular tasks in the course of the German Unity transport projects. In order to expand the A4 to six lanes, the Bahrebachmühlen viaduct near Chemnitz, which had been in operation since 1872, had to be rebuilt. Under the leadership of DEGES, the lower parts of three bridge piers were replaced by two widened passageways - a construction project that was unique in Europe in terms of logistics and technology.
