Once again, Greater São Paulo is left with areas in the dark, some for several days. What are the causes, from a technical point of view, in the context of storms that are becoming increasingly intense and frequent? Above all, it is essential to seek engineering solutions to reduce the impact of increasingly severe weather events, because even with very strong storms, the population must have a safe and efficient supply guaranteed. This webinar will discuss strategies for the short, medium and long term, in addition to presenting innovations that can be adopted both in public distribution networks and in consumer facilities, aiming to ensure greater resilience and reliability for the energy supply. João Gilberto Cunha – Electrical engineer (UFU), master in engineering (ITA); director of Mi Omega Emgenharia e Consultoria and Instituto Mi Omega; member of the committees for standards NBR 5410 (low voltage installations), NBR 14039 (medium voltage installations), ABNT NBR 5419 (protection against atmospheric discharges) and 16690 (design requirements for photovoltaic arrays), among others; technical director of Abracopel - Brazilian Association for Awareness of the Dangers of Electricity; technical coordinator of industry events; author of several books and countless technical articles. Daniel Bento - Electrical engineer, certified as Project Management Professional (PMP), has worked with medium voltage insulated networks for over 30 years. He is the former coordinator of the B1 Study Committee for insulated cables at Cigre and co-author of Technical Brochures 773 and 924 of Cigre on fault location and diagnosis of insulated cables. He was technically responsible for the entire underground distribution network in the city of São Paulo, during his time at the former Eletropaulo. He is currently CEO of BAUR do Brasil.
