The earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day created many "isolated villages" in Ishikawa Prefecture. Many residents were forced to evacuate due to power outages and water outages. One of them was 87-year-old Toshiko Sakashita, who lives in Koike Town in the Nishiho district. However, although Sakashita evacuated once during the mass evacuation on January 17, she returned to her home in Koike Town from the evacuation center on February 6. There were two reasons why Sakashita returned to her home. One was to live again with her beloved cat, Milk, who had been separated at the evacuation site. The other was because her late family rests in this land where she has lived for nearly 70 years. Life in an "isolated village" where power outages and water outages continue...
