Pleime Base was originally the Pleime Special Forces Camp built by the Americans in the 1960s, the camp is located about 50km southwest of Pleiku Town. By June 1974, the camp was rebuilt by the Army of the Republic of Vietnam with a hexagonal cross-section, surrounded by 12 layers of barbed wire fences interspersed with minefields, at the corners were bunkers for firepower, the base was garrisoned by the 82nd Ranger Battalion with more than 400 soldiers. At the end of July 1974, the 320th Division of the Liberation Army and the coordinated forces attacked Pleime, however, the ARVN soldiers fought back fiercely despite being outnumbered. The battle lasted more than a month, the 82nd Ranger Battalion under the command of Major Vuong Mong Long still held out against the Liberation Army, holding the Pleime base but they suffered significant losses. -------------------------------------- If you find the video interesting, don't forget to click LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and SHARE. ▶️ Channel address: https://www.youtube.com/c/TungTangKhác... ▶️ For any information, please contact: [email protected].
