Whether it's a planned kitchen or a MODULAR KITCHEN, the truth is that we have many items to think about in this space, such as kitchen countertops, KITCHEN CABINETS, bench skirting, plinths, carpentry in general, faucets, sinks, floors and coverings, and this often leaves us a little lost as to how to decorate a kitchen and have a simple, cheap and functional decoration. Today I'm going to show you a step by step, with a TOUR OF THE KITCHEN so that you can take advantage of every corner of it, as it's a small kitchen measuring 2.82 x 1.50m, with a 70cm door and a 1.10 x 1m window. The current kitchen decor features modular furniture, a white refrigerator, a stainless steel stove, aluminum channel-type handles, tiles on the baseboard, white tubular light on the ceiling and plaster molding. ITEM 1 – LESS IS MORE – This is a rule of minimalism and modern kitchens, the more empty spaces and organization. The more we make a small space feel larger, in the case of this kitchen the baseboard has a lot of information, be it a dish drainer, a utensil bar, not to mention the colored glass tiles, which make the space very heavy. Changing the baseboard for a lighter covering, placing utensils and a drainer in the carpentry, already helps a lot; ITEM 2 – COLOR PALETTE – You don't need to have an all-white, all-monochromatic kitchen if you don't like it, but using light colors and neutral colors helps a lot to modernize a decor or make it more timeless, bringing more amplitude along with the previous tip. Here I replaced the countertop covering with a marbled, rectified satin porcelain tile measuring 80x80cm. On the walls outside the kitchen sink I left the paint on, on the floor I put a porcelain tile that imitates wood, a polystyrene skirting board and on the carpentry I left the overhead kitchen cabinet white and the lower cabinet in wood. In fact, wood tones make the environment more welcoming, inviting and timeless; ITEM 3 – FILTER AND MICROWAVE – These are 2 elements that also take up a lot of visual space on the countertop. The water purifier is easy to solve, if we use a filter under the kitchen countertop and a faucet with a filter, or an outlet for filtered water, or even a mixer, we can already solve this. The microwave here did not have many options, but I placed it closer to the refrigerator in a niche, where one of the sides serves to hide the refrigerator's carpentry; ITEM 4 – CARPENTRY – I used the microwave niche and the spice rack in the same wood tone as the lower cabinet, I changed the aluminum handles to simple hollow handles, which do not accumulate water or dirt like the models with a front panel, I made a closure on the side of the refrigerator and also between the counter and the upper cabinet on the side wall, ITEM 5 – COUNTERTOP – The current countertop is a yellow Icarí granite, it brings a lot of information and so I would choose a white, black or gray countertop, it could be granite or another synthetic stone, in the case of this countertop I used a synthetic stone, but I could have used a porcelain countertop, a white siena granite, white itaunas, white pitaya, etc. I replaced the stove with a cooktop, so the countertop was larger and gave more space to the kitchen, I did not use a pediment, the porcelain tile itself did this function and I used the same stone on the plinth; ITEM 6 – APPLIANCES – Here I standardized the color of all appliances, keeping everything in stainless steel and I used the induction cooktop to make cleaning easier; ITEM 7 – PLASTERBOARD – I removed the plaster molding and kept a smooth plaster ceiling, without any details, using only a built-in LED profile, but if you don't want to use plasterboard, you can use tracks, overlay spots that look really cool, just try to take your closet to the ceiling to avoid dust accumulation; Here are the videos mentioned: MASTER'S BEDROOM: • 10 TRUE TIPS TO MAKE YOUR ...
