No matter how well-informed and well-intentioned we parents are, we are not always able to teach our children how to behave. We live in an extremely busy world and we hardly have time to truly spend time with our children. In today's video, I give parents tips to apply in their daily lives with their children that will help them improve their behavior and relationships with everyone in the family. These tips were given by parental educator Telma Abrahão. Check them out! 00:00 - Opening 01:14 - Tip 1 02:48 - Tip 2 04:55 - Tip 3 06:04 - Tip 4 06:58 - Tip 5 08:54 - Tip 6 10:04 - Tip 7 1. Spend quality time with each child every day Without a doubt, one of the best things you can do to see positive changes in your children's behavior is to spend quality time with each of them every day, dedicating the positive attention and emotional connection they so desperately need. When children do not receive this positive attention proactively, they tend to seek your attention in negative ways. Dedicate 10 to 15 minutes a day of exclusive time to each child and you will quickly notice a great improvement in unwanted behavior. During this time together, be present with your body and soul, put your cell phone aside and connect emotionally with your child. 2. Don’t ignore the source of the misbehavior Recurrent misbehavior can be a symptom of a deeper problem, and when we understand the cause, we can use more assertive strategies to solve the problem. The next time your child starts to misbehave, stay calm and instead of reacting in a punitive way, stop for a moment and ask yourself what might be causing it. A lack of affection and connection leads to agitation and bad manners. Often a kiss, a silent hug, a sincere exchange of glances and your emotional presence can bring an immediate solution to the problem. 3. Have well-established routines Children need routines, because in addition to making their daily lives easier, they are much calmer when they know what is coming. Establishing clear and well-defined routines also helps a lot to get through the most challenging moments of the day. 4. Encourage your children to solve their own problems We need to learn to trust our children’s ability to solve their own problems and we can also help them learn to do this. 5. Set clear rules and limits Children need rules and clear limits. Set rules that are non-negotiable for you. Determine a consequence for each rule and make it clear to the children what these rules and their consequences are. Persist and be firm about making the consequences really count. 6. Use NO, only when it really means NO Think before giving your answer, use NO only so that it really means NO. If it means yes, say yes right away, it will certainly be much better and more assertive than saying no and then having that no turn into a YES. 7. Be a good role model! Be the example you want your children to see, because they will follow your model. ???? Visit the MdM store on Amazon: www.amazon.com.br/macetesdemae ????
