What is the nursing staff's attitude to love, what moves the parents and, most importantly, how do people with disabilities feel themselves? Elisa Luzius wants to find out all of this in a residential group in Nassau in the Rhein-Lahn district. Love is omnipresent in everyday life in the residential group of the Scheuern Foundation in Nassau. Reporter Elisa Luzius has touch points with the topic of disability in her family. Her brother-in-law Björn has trisomy 21, also known as Down syndrome, and he is one of the most loveable people she knows. Elisa wants to know what life is like in a residential group for people with disabilities, who and how people love and why the nursing staff have chosen this work. Are people with disabilities too rarely seen in public? Elisa feels the gazes of passers-by when she is out and about with the residential group. Why do we actually say "with a disability"? In her seven days, she experiences desperate and loving parents, surprising closeness and trust from people and nursing staff who came to this profession via a detour.
