Combustible dust explosions cause many fatalities worldwide every year and have the potential to completely destroy industrial facilities and buildings. Unlike flammable gases and vapors, combustible dusts are (only) apparently harmless. They are present in a multitude of processes, from the metallurgical to the food industry, from the pharmaceutical to the plastics industry, from the chemical to the agribusiness industry. In this webinar, consultants Celso Mendes and Estellito Rangel Jr. will present the fundamentals of combustible dust fires and explosions, the characteristic parameters, accidents in grain silos, the classification of areas and zones, the types and levels of protection of electrical equipment according to ABNT/IEC standards, and safety recommendations.
