The Tokaido Shinkansen will celebrate its 60th anniversary on October 1, 2024. To commemorate its long history of supporting the arteries of Japan, we will be broadcasting a special episode of "50 Years of the Shinkansen: The Technological Innovation Behind Its Birth," which was broadcast in 2014. <Program Content> Currently, the Shinkansen connects Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in about two and a half hours.
