Almost 8 years ago, on November 2nd, 2015, the 50 3648-8 from the Saxon Railway Museum received its last major inspection. After these eight years, the deadlines have now expired and the locomotive needs a new inspection. Before the fire in the Reko 50 went out a few days ago, it was given a proper farewell. The last two trips with the locomotive took place in Saxony on October 28th and 29th, 2023. On Saturday, the big Erzgebirge tour began. Starting in Niederwiesa, the route led via Chemnitz Hbf, Thalheim, Aue, Schwarzenberg first to Johanngeorgenstadt. There were mock entries in Aue and Johann'stadt. The V100 then pulled the entire train back to Schwarzenberg and straight to the Railway Museum. After a long lunch break, the journey continued via Schlettau and a change of direction in Annaberg-Buchholz Süd to Cranzahl. In Markersbach, the viaduct was crossed twice to allow passengers to take a picture of the train on the viaduct. After taking on water in Cranzahl, the SEM special steam train left Cranzahl in parallel with the Fichtelbergbahn scheduled train. The 99 1762-6 has only had new deadlines for about a month. After all passengers were back on the train, the train started the last leg from Cranzahl via Zschopau back to Chemnitz. In between, we were in the Pressnitztal for two more shots (only one shot in the video). There, 99 542 took the last scheduled train of the day from Steinbach to Jöhstadt. The end of October 28th for us was the departure from Zschopau. The very last trip before the deadline took place on October 29th. This will be shown in another video soon. Enjoy watching.
