The treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder is known to be complex and challenging for both patients and professionals, and the therapeutic relationship can be particularly troubled in this treatment given the emotional instability inherent to the disorder. However, this justification often clouds the therapists' view of their own mistakes and can cause the responsibility for all the problems and difficulties of the treatment to be attributed exclusively to the patients. In this video, I try to shed light on the most common mistakes made by us therapists in this treatment, based on my own experiences and the many reports from colleagues and patients that I have had access to over the last few years. The idea is that we can learn from each other in order to make fewer and fewer mistakes and deliver the best treatment to those who need us.
