The stator housing is sometimes made of aluminum, so it is recommended to check it with a magnet. If there is no magnetism, then the metal is aluminum, otherwise it is either cast iron or steel, which after disassembly is sent directly to scrap metal. The rotor of the electric motor is made of steel with aluminum impellers at the ends. How can it be easily and simply disassembled? Today's video will answer this question. The video will provide a detailed disassembly of the electric motor. Simple and difficult ways to extract copper from the stator are shown. There are two options: either burn the stator on a fire and then cut off all the copper with a grinder. Or disassemble the stator manually. This is a long and labor-intensive process, but if you need unburnt copper, then this option is for you! Electric motors are rich in copper, and if it is also from the USSR, then the quality of the copper will be at a high level. As a result of disassembling, the electric motor will be divided by metals: copper, aluminum, iron (steel, cast iron). All data, the percentage content of each metal will be shown.
