Many residents, including Jews, pious people, and important women, convert. However, the unbelieving Jews incite a persecution against Paul and Silas, but they manage to escape. The apostles then go to Berea, where they are well received by the Jews. The people in Berea examine the Scriptures daily to confirm Paul's words, resulting in many conversions. However, the Jews of Thessalonica learn of the revival in Berea and provoke another persecution.
