Whether transnational or transracial, international adoption is often told through a single point of view: that of the adopter, mostly white, conveying a fantasized and altruistic vision of the adult, who goes through an "obstacle course". This vision of history takes care to evade all the racial and cultural questions raised by this practice. How can we overcome the myth of the white savior coming to the rescue of racialized children? How is the denial of the child's origins by his or her parents a form of latent racism? And where is the voice of the adoptees? Rokhaya Diallo and Grace Ly welcome Joohee, a French teacher, adoptee of South Korean origin, anti-racist activist and Asian feminist.
