Japan Air Commuter, a regional airline that connects the islands of Kagoshima Prefecture from its base at Kagoshima Airport, celebrated its 40th anniversary of service on December 10th this year. We look back on the planes and staff that have supported life on the islands, including the famous YS-11, the first domestically produced passenger aircraft after the war and which was sadly retired in 2006.
