BECOME A FAN of the channel to see the videos before anyone else and also show your support so that I can continue uploading new content: / @josebarcelofoto In this class of the level 1 photography course, the fourth class of the course, I explain in more depth what functions the diaphragm has and what diaphragm values we will want to adjust depending on the photos we want to take. You will see that I go into quite depth on the subject, and it is because I like that you can know all the details as much as possible. In any case, I will indicate to you in each case what things are important and which ones are not so important for you to learn right now. All the reference values that I give you for the diaphragms are based on the fact that you are using SLR or mirrorless cameras. In the case that you use a bridge or superzoom camera to do this course, the diaphragm values may vary depending on the camera model you have. Even so, you can make an extrapolation if you have a superzoom. Here are the values you would use if you had a superzoom that can open the diaphragm up to f/2.8 and close it down to f/8 maximum: You will see that in the video I give you three diaphragm values to take three different types of photos. These values are F/4, F/8 and F/16. On your superzoom camera you can change them to: F/2.8, F/4 or F/5.6, F/8, respectively. So, once this detail that you should keep in mind for superzoom cameras is clear, let's watch the video in which I explain the following: How the diaphragm priority mode works In what type of photos you can use the diaphragm priority mode What you should keep in mind when using the diaphragm priority mode Why a photo can turn out badly in diaphragm priority mode What effects the diaphragm has on your photos Types of photos you can take by modifying the diaphragm Aperture values depending on the effect you are looking for Suggested exercises to practice using the diaphragm. So, although it is a longer video than usual, I think you can learn a lot if you watch it calmly, paying attention and checking what I am telling you on your camera as well. In the proposed exercises, you can do as many tests as you want. I highly recommend taking notes on paper of all the adjustments you make on the camera, although you can later check the adjustments you made using programs such as Adobe's photo editing programs (https://bit.ly/creativefoto). It is always better to take notes, so you are more aware of each adjustment you make at the time. In any case, I hope you are enjoying the course and that you are learning step by step all the fundamentals of photographic technique. With this class, I think you are ready to start taking photos with a creative touch by choosing the depth of field you want your next photograph to have.
