Neurobiology is the study of how our brains work. We talk with Marek Kaczmarzyk – a neurobiologist from the University of Silesia, an author, speaker and populariser of science – about, among other things, why traditional schools need radical changes today and whether, from a biology perspective, homeschooling can be a good alternative to public education. Professor Kaczmarzyk also talks about how memory works and why we forget most of what happens to us, why so many people say about themselves: "I'm bad at math" and in what conditions our brain learns best. We also talk about talents – about how competences develop, what makes us discover our strengths and how it happens that in some people competences become outstanding. And also about learning at the right time and what we can learn about education and upbringing from African tribes.
