Antisocial people who had to be relocated, that is what the residents of the Lower Town were called by the Nijmegen city council after the Second World War. He lived in the Lower Town from the fifties. “No, that wasn’t so good in the past, this neighbourhood,” laughs Jo Janssen who was born and raised in the Lower Town.
