He chaired the Department of Philosophy, which he founded, at the Faculty of Letters of Ege University, and then the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university. Ahmet Arslan, who speaks four languages, has books, articles and translations in the fields of Ancient Greek Philosophy and Medieval Islamic Philosophy.
