On January 8, 2020, a developed low pressure system caused typhoon-like strong winds across Japan. Some areas were also subject to storm warnings. This video is a chronological compilation of landing scenes taken from takeoff and landing footage taken near Osaka Itami Airport from around 11:30 a.m. to around 2:30 p.m. Each aircraft in landing preparation flies with its nose pointed upwind (crab method, crab means crab) to deal with strong crosswinds, making it look like it is flying sideways. Depending on the flight, some aircraft suffered from turbulent airflow near the runway surface just before landing, causing them to lose their attitude significantly. In such severe weather conditions, many flights went around one after another, and there were five go-arounds during the three hours that we filmed.
