In an act that has generated controversy, President Claudia Sheinbaum has decided to close more than 30 shelters where migrants received clothing and food completely free. The government made this controversial decision because a wave of migration is approaching that would saturate the country's services. The first shelter to close its doors is the Casa del Migrante, where thousands of foreigners resided. Another of the most iconic shelters that will close after 20 years of service is the Salesian dining room in Tijuana, which prepared 2,000 dishes a day for migrants. Ciudad Juarez is also closing the last shelter in the city, located one kilometer from the international bridge. Juarez officials dismantled the tent this week, just as the largest migrant caravan in history approaches. #mexico #mexicans #claudiasheinbaum #venezuelans #migrants
