In particular, Korean bells have attracted great attention from domestic and international art scholars since the early 20th century due to their unique beauty. As a result, there is a place that makes bells that have risen to the ranks of works of art, to the point of being called by the world-famous scientific name, 'Korean Bell'. Bosingak Bell, World Peace Bell, Chungbuk Millennium Great Bell. This place, where everyone knows the names of bells, continuously boils molten iron in nine furnaces and breaks molds to make bells. With 10 employees, at least 20 years of experience, their work ethics cannot be explained without the spirit of craftsmanship. Let's meet the bell craftsmen who make bells with their souls, who create sounds that will last for a thousand years. A bell factory capable of producing a bell weighing up to 50 tons. The day begins here in a heat that makes the harsh winter seem insignificant. The process of making a bell is carried out with the sincerity of craftsmen, from designing the pattern to making the mold and pouring the molten iron. Making a bell that is 3.3 meters tall and weighs 13 tons is the most arduous task of all. First, all nine furnaces must be operated to produce 18 tons of molten iron. Boiling the hot molten iron for over five hours in front of the furnace, which reaches a maximum temperature of 1,200 degrees, and gathering it all together requires a high level of concentration. Tension fills the workshop as they prepare to pour 18 tons of molten iron into the mold. Pouring the molten iron and dismantling the mold after drying it for three days is truly hard labor. The bell with the mold weighs 31 tons. Even though construction equipment was mobilized, unexpected situations kept occurring during the process of moving the bell. The work of dismantling the formwork continued in the acrid sand and dust, and the pieces that had hardened between the patterns were individually polished. The process of making a bell is the same, but the reason why not a single bell makes the same sound is because it is done entirely by hand. The bell is said to have a sound that lasts a thousand years. Let’s meet the passion of the craftsmen as they transform 1,200-degree molten iron into a single bell. ✔ Program name: Extreme Job - Bell Craftsman Part 1-2 ✔ Broadcast date: 2013.02.27 #ExtremeJob #Bell #Casting #Blacksmith #Craftsman #Technology #Tradition #Large #Production #Manufacturing #Process #Buddhism #Art #Artistic
