Believe it or not, we took two Africas on the most famous Romanian passes, Transalpina and Fagaraš - one in the most affordable basic version, the other loaded to the brim, i.e. Adventure Sports with a dual-clutch gearbox, semi-active chassis and three aluminum trunks. Both machines had to cope with surfaces ranging from literally perfect circuits, through gravel to wet loose stones. We slept wildly; A bear also came to check on us, and the next day we saw a lot more of them. We alternated Africa so that we could both talk about the differences between them.
