25 years ago, director Roy Dames made the cult film 'Foute vrienden' (Foul friends) about blood brothers Verbrande Herman, Rooie Jos, Dikke Bobbie and Jantje van Amsterdam. Now he is making a new documentary about them and in the meantime they have been marked by life. For 30 years, director Roy Dames has been following the Amsterdam blood brothers Verbrande Herman, Rooie Jos, Dikke Bobbie and Jantje van Amsterdam. Dames met them when he lived in Amsterdam East in the 1980s. Dames captures twenty-five years of his four main characters in full rawness. Even now that they are old and worn out and look back on their wild years, each on their own. What did life on the fringes ultimately yield? How do they look back on a time when money was still just lying on the streets?
