Sept. 19, 2010 (continuation of part one) After the mock approach in Full, the steam locomotives were refueled and could be viewed up close. Then the journey continued over the Aare bridge via Koblenz to Bülach, then in the opposite direction via Eglisau over the Rhine. Just before Neuhausen, we had a view of the Rhine Falls. After the stop in Schaffhausen, we continued at a slow pace over the Rhine Falls. After Winterthur, we had to wait a while because of the many scheduled trains, so it got dark shortly after Zurich-Seebach. During the departure from Brugg in the direction of Frick, you could see how the two clouds of smoke were alternately illuminated by the embers from the fireboxes while coal was being shoveled. You can also see the many sparks falling on the train like snowflakes. At 10 p.m. we reached Basel, where the trains were split again and continued on to their destinations. It was a beautiful and unforgettable journey, and very well organized by everyone involved.
