There is a lady in Tokyo who is living a life that took her back a century. Kayo Asai, who aspires to be a "modern girl" from the end of the Taisho period to the early Showa period, sleeps in a room that has been recreated to look like the early Showa period, and spends her days reminiscing about the good old days, surrounded by retro items such as a black telephone, a brazier, and an ice refrigerator. Kayo Asai dresses, cooks, and lives like a modern girl - women who followed Westernized fashion and lifestyles in 1920s Japan.
