He was born into a poor family in Gama, Federal District. His father was an electrician and his mother was a housewife. At the age of 16, he got involved in the world of crime and ended up selling drugs, committing petty thefts and dropping out of school. After managing to rehabilitate himself, even though almost no one believed in him, with the exception of an uncle who was a pastor, Weslei Machado completed high school through a supplementary course, started college and began to build his path to success. But this journey was full of setbacks. Since he got married and became a father at a young age, he needed to work two jobs to support himself. His daughter had a special condition that required him to buy expensive food, and there was no money for anything, and he often had to rely on food baskets donated by the church to eat. Weslei failed 23 public exams over a period of more than 3 years before being approved for his first exam, as an Analyst for the TSE, when he had not yet graduated. From then on, his life was never the same. Today, he is a Public Prosecutor and fights crime, helping to build a better society. The interview I had the pleasure of doing with Professor Weslei was sensational. I left it with my faith strengthened and an even greater respect for this admirable human being and competent professional. When I come across stories like this, I am certain that #EveryoneCanDoIt!
