During the First World War, Šiauliai suffered perhaps the worst blow - the city was severely destroyed. During the First World War, 65 percent Buildings in the central part of the city of Šiauliai burned down or were destroyed. Therefore, after the war, the city of Šiauliai had to rebuild its architectural face. The most intensive construction and development of the city began in the 20th century.
