Welcome to an experience in San Antonio de Rivas, Jalisco! In this exciting video, join me on my journey from Guadalajara to the beautiful town of San Antonio de Rivas in the municipality of La Barca Jalisco, where I will participate in the harvest of white corn. I will show you the stunning landscapes on my way to San Antonio de Rivas. The perfect, clear weather creates the ideal setting for the corn harvest, and I will share with you the beauty of the sunset in this charming town. The next day, you will witness a spectacular sunrise over the temple of San Antonio de Rivas. I will visit our grandfather's stable, where I will enjoy the sunrise while sipping a delicious coffee. We will head to a plot of land belonging to my uncle, where we will enjoy the beautiful morning while watering avocado, lemon, and palm trees. At the stable, I will explore plants such as alfalfa, lentils, and chickpeas, which are great for fertilizing and enriching the soil naturally. The next exciting day, we will head to my uncle’s large plot of land where the corn is ready to be harvested. With an ideal moisture level of 14%, the combine begins the process. I will show you how each load of corn is accurately weighed before being shipped to the buyer. Afterwards, the corn is stored before reaching the big cities for consumption. Although the combine does an excellent job, you will see that some corn plants fall over and must be picked by hand. The next day, I will share how we prepare Peruvian and pinto beans while hand-picking the kernels from the hand-picked corn. Finally, you will witness the land being plowed to dry and crumble it before planting wheat or oats.
