This is a bit of a different matter. The 2M will be discontinued, but it won't actually be discontinued. It will just be renumbered! The route launched to help replace the metro has proven so successful that BKK believes it is justified to finalize it. However, since the metro is already running, the 2M designation is not justified (I don't think it was before either). After quite a few reorganizations/renumberings, it will finally continue to operate on an unchanged route with route number 23 from 2023.03.18. Thus, we can say that tram 23 will return after 23 years. A special piquancy to the matter is that the first four stops between Keleti and Golgota tér are the same as the original tram 23 line. For example, tram 23 can be documented again at Orczy tér or Keleti, and this is a relatively rare phenomenon in transport history. Recently, route number 56 was a big comeback on a route almost identical to the old one, but it wasn't missing for so long, and I don't remember anything else. You can scold this decision, you can criticize it, but I think route 23 was a good choice. I hope route 2B will soon get a suitable route number, since the letter B is not the luckiest choice either, but that will be another story! BecsVision 2023 SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!
