Between June 20 and July 17, 2022, a nearly 1-month summer track closure took place on tram line 2. Within the framework of the track closure, the tram track was renovated in several locations (Balassi Bálint utca, Széchenyi rakpart, Közraktár utca, Boráros tér), and the stone wall was repaired in the Pest underpass of the Chain Bridge, which is currently under renovation. During these works, traffic was suspended on both tram lines 2 and 2M (the new 2B service only started on August 13), and instead, it was possible to travel between Kossuth Lajos tér and Közvágóhíd with the replacement bus 2, which covers the topic of this compilation. This replacement bus had a very interesting route, as the vehicles ran along the lower quay of Pest from Fővám Square to Kossuth Lajos Square (from Március 15. Square to Fővám Square to the south). In addition, several temporary stops were set up for the replacement buses, at Március 15. Square, and to the north, the buses used the tram stop. As can be seen in the video, the majority of the solo buses on the replacement bus were BKV's most modern type, the Mercedes Conecto NG, but there were also Ikarus V127/Modulo M108d buses, second-hand Mercedes Citaro O530 C1s and solo Volvos. In addition to the listed vehicles, two KCSV7 trams also appear in a cut at Közvágóhíd, which were running on line 24, which was operated exclusively with KCSV during this period (which also partially replaced the 2M). The recordings were made on: 13-14 July 2022.
