The R158 bus line debuted in 2019 as the first retro (and not nostalgic) route in Budapest. The route operated on weekends from June 1 to September 29, and on October 19. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it only carried passengers three times in 2020: on March 15, August 29 and September 26, the latter two days as part of the Night of the Libegők program, extending into the night. The footage above was taken on August 29, when several nostalgic vehicles appeared on the line, including the BPI-007, which is the main character of this video. The Ikarus 412.10A type vehicle was taken into service by BKV on August 31, 1998. In the summer of 2013, the previously gradient bus was repainted blue-gray, but it did not receive a major renovation until it was temporarily withdrawn from service in 2014. It has been a member of the nostalgia fleet since 2015 (at which time it was restored to its original condition as part of a renovation), but it was still in regular public service until 2018. BPI-007 can be seen regularly at various events and open days, but unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic also had an impact on this. The recordings were taken on: 2020. 08. 29.
