200 Years of the Consummation of Independence. Monday, September 27, 2021 President AMLO. We dedicate the commemoration of the 200 Years of the Consummation of Independence to the importance of friendly relations with the nations of the world; there is much that unites us. We declare ourselves supporters of peace, sovereignty and love. It is the time of forgiveness and mutual respect. We will continue to promote universal brotherhood. We recognize the support and solidarity in difficult times on the part of different countries. We appreciate the congratulations on the Bicentennial of the consummation of Independence expressed to us by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selakovic; the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotyakov; the Minister for Ecological Transition of the French Republic, Barbara Pompili and Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Vice-Dean of the Council of Cardinals of the Holy See. With the guests of honor, members of the Cabinet and representatives of the Legislative and Judicial powers, we appreciated the historical staging of the history of Mexico. The Armed Forces recounted passages of history: the pre-Hispanic period to the Viceroyalty; the Cry of Independence of September 16, 1810; the Sentiments of the Nation and the ideal of Vicente Guerrero: "The Homeland comes First"; the Plan of Iguala of February 24, 1821; the Treaties of Córdoba of August 24, 1821; the Triumphal Entry of the Trigarante Army of September 27, 1821 and the signing of the Act of Independence of September 28, 1821. What we experienced 200 years ago marked forever our political separation from Spain. Since then, neither Iturbide nor Santana nor any other conservative political leader failed to fulfill their commitment to uphold Mexico's independence, as demonstrated by the defense of the country against several attempts at reconquest that sought to maintain its subordination to the Spanish monarchy.
