This year marks 30 years since the towns of Tolosa (Gipuzkoa) and Uztaritze (Lapurdi) were twinned. They have had a close relationship since 1989, and the celebration held in Uztaritze on October 12 was a showcase of this. On that day, many cultural groups from both towns took part, including the Udaberri Dantza Taldeak and local dance groups. In this video, members of Udaberri dance the Otsagabiko Dantzak. These dances are dances in honor of the Virgin of Muskilda from the town of Otsagabia, located in the Salaitzu valley, and are danced on September 8, the same day as the Elciegokoak dances. These are dances with a long tradition, with a documented history of at least 3 centuries and that have been passed down from generation to generation, helped by the geographical isolation of Otsagabia. The dance series consists of a total of 7 dances: Paseoa, four Makil Dantza (Emperor, Katxutxa, Dantza and Modorro), Pañolo Dantza and Jota. The dancers' company is made up of 8 dancers dressed in bright ribbons and ornaments, and a Bobo who walks in a special costume. The Bobo, as the leader of the dance, is responsible for the organization and distribution of materials. He also acts as the "dance master" and dances two dances, the Jota and the Pañolo dance.
