More and more specialists are involved in the provision of medical and psychosocial services - doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers. This course on the basics of propaedeutics of mental illnesses is intended for doctors (not psychiatrists), psychologists and social workers. It is devoted to the basic principles of providing care to patients with the most common mental and behavioral disorders. It also considers important documents developed by WHO: the Mental Health Gap Action Program (mhGAP), which aims to expand coverage of services for mental, neurological and substance use disorders. The mhGAP IG 2.0 manual contains algorithms for clinical decision-making by family doctors for the most common mental disorders. This training course was created by the Ukrainian Institute of Public Health Policy Charitable Organization within the framework of a subgrant from the ICF "Alliance for Public Health". We are grateful to the WHO office in Ukraine for the idea and inspiration for this course.
