The review of the process of defect detection of the 1VD-FTV TLC200 engine, manufactured in 2008, with a mileage of 307 thousand km on the odometer... To believe / not to believe the mileage is not the point of this video, the point is slightly different. The car was purchased this year, with a mileage of about 295,000 km, using the "I will select a car for you" service ???? There are a lot of such selectors now, because the service is in demand, but knowledge, experience (and what other qualities are needed?) - are not equally applicable to all cars, and especially to the TLC200 with 1VD-FTV. I will not discuss the general condition of the car, it is basically decent, but the engine is worth discussing. The selector turned out to be a LOOSER (if you do not take into account his interest in helping to sell), because with just a normal, visual inspection of the engine, it was possible to see that it was repaired. Good/bad - that's another question, which is difficult to find out, because no seller will let you physically pick at the engine for a deep inspection... and not deep either. I think that the collector deliberately hid the information, because even the driver of the car carrier on which the car was loaded noticed that the exhaust smoke from the pipe was not pleasing to the eye... In general, from the first hundred kilometers, the owner realized that engine repair was inevitable. Of course, it's stupid to hope that a 16-year-old car has a lively engine, but you always want to ride after buying it, and not go to the repair shop. I understand ???? I sympathize ???? well, then we watch the video, draw conclusions, discuss. p.s. for those who are going to make such a purchase in the near future - think about it. 90% of diesel Kruzaks / Lexuses older than 5 years - within a year / two will require engine repair. It's good if no one has climbed "there" yet, this is a huge +.
