The E30 trunk line is an international railway line running from Germany through Poland to Ukraine, which is part of the Trans-European Transport Corridor. In Poland, the line runs mainly along former railway lines that were built in the 19th and early 20th centuries and then modernized to meet modern standards. The route was therefore built over many decades, but was not designed from scratch as a single project at a specific time. The modernization of the Trzebinia - Krzeszowice section took place between 2017 and 2021. The works included replacing the tracks, modernizing the railway infrastructure, replacing the traction network, and adapting the infrastructure to handle higher-speed passenger and freight trains. It is planned to increase the speed to 200 km/h on some sections of the E30. The modernization of some sections of this railway line, including the section between Katowice and Kraków, provides for adjustment to this speed, although in practice not all sections yet meet these requirements due to infrastructure limitations. Interesting fact: The sounds of trains passing, even at higher speeds, are completely different on the E30 than, for example, on CMK, and the reason for this are the tracks, as well as the bogies of the individual wagons - the newer the bogies, the cleaner the sounds of the passing trains. The same applies to the tracks - if they have been recently polished, it has a positive effect on the sound coming from under the train axle ;) ????????/???????? The E30 railway line is an international railway running from Germany through Poland to Ukraine, and is part of the Trans-European Transport Corridor. In Poland, this line mostly follows old railway routes that were built in the 19th and early 20th centuries and later modernized to meet contemporary standards. Therefore, this route was developed over several decades, rather than being laid out as a single project within a specific timeframe. The modernization of the Trzebinia - Krzeszowice section took place between 2017 and 2021. The works included track replacement, modernization of the railway infrastructure, replacement of the catenary system, and adaptation of the infrastructure to accommodate faster passengers and freight trains. On some sections of the E30, there are plans to increase the speed to 200 km/h. The modernization of certain parts of this railway line, including the section between Katowice and Krakow, is aimed at enabling this speed, though in practice, not all sections yet meet these requirements due to infrastructural limitations. Fun fact: The sounds of passing trains, even at higher speeds, are noticeably different on the E30 compared to lines like the CMK (Central Railway Main Line), and the reason for this lies in the tracks and the train bogies. The newer the bogies, the cleaner the sound of the passing trains. The same applies to the tracks – if they have been recently ground, it positively affects the sound produced by the train wheels! :) #train #railway #trains #railway #rp1 #polska #poland #małopolska
