The multiplication rate of cassava is very low. Typically, about 10 cuttings or stems can be obtained from one plant. However, at harvest time, the farmer discards a large volume of young branches that are normally not suitable as planting material. This video illustrates a reliable method that was used commercially to speed up the multiplication process of high-value cassava varieties (waxy starch or amylose-free). Through this process the multiplication rate can be increased to 1:50. Authors: Jorge Iván Lenis, Eusebio Ortega, Amaury Espitia, Nelson Morante, Roosevelt Escobar, Carlos Dorado.
