114th Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 President Claudia Sheinbaum 114 years after the start of the Mexican Revolution, we reaffirm ourselves as a free, sovereign, independent, supportive, and democratic country. On November 20, 1910, the third transformation of our country began to overcome years of Porfiriato, because there is no development that justifies killings and dispossession. We remember the tireless struggle of precursors such as Emiliano Zapata, Francisco Villa, Felipe Ángeles, and President Francisco I. Madero himself, or women such as Elisa Acuña, Adela Velarde, Clara de la Rocha, Carmen Parra, and the anonymous heroines. This great social movement contributed the Constitution of 1917, the first to recognize social rights, sovereignty, communal property, and the ejido. After the neoliberal period that modified our constitution to hand over the nation's assets, in 2018 the people decided to begin the Fourth Transformation of public life in Mexico in a peaceful manner. This new story was started by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Today we are living the second floor of the Fourth Transformation with democracy and freedoms. We are expanding the Welfare Programs and the health system. With the support of our Armed Forces, next year we will begin the construction of trains, highways and potable water works. There is an environment conducive to investment. We are moving forward to recover the social meaning of the Constitution, which already establishes the popular election of judges, ministers and magistrates, as well as the substantive equality of women and full rights for indigenous communities. The world looks at Mexico with admiration. Here and abroad we are a resilient, loving, supportive, fraternal people, with hard-working men and women. I am clear that only with the support of the majority can we continue the transformation of our country. We will never separate ourselves from the people; We owe ourselves to him and we serve him.
