On July 28, 2024, I set off on my biggest cycling adventure to date. From my hometown of Freiburg, I set off for Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to reach the 29th UN Climate Change Conference 110 days and over 5,000 kilometers later. My tour took me over the Alps, to Lake Garda, to the cities of Venice and Ljubljana, and then through the entire Balkans to Istanbul. From there, I went right across Turkey, through Georgia, and finally to Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea, the end point of my trip. With this trip, I wanted to inspire people to cycle and encourage them to cycle more themselves, be it in their free time or in everyday life. The bicycle is such a great and underestimated means of transport and basically the solution to combat many of our ecological problems. What technology can say that? At the same time, with this trip, I wanted to report on positive examples along the way and bring home stories of success. I learned so many new things on this trip: About people, cultures, religions, politics and about myself. I was able to exchange my idea of the world with experience and theory with practice. And that was my big goal for this trip. I wanted to get to know the world a little better, in all its beauty and diversity. After 110 days in the saddle, I can say: I succeeded :) But of course I also appreciate my privilege of being on the road so freely and unattached for months. Not everyone can do that. And so I made this little travel film. So that people who don't have the privilege of being on the road for so long can at least share in this trip a little through my eyes. I filmed, edited and added sound to (almost) all of the scenes myself, some of them in the evening in my 2 sqm tent somewhere in Turkey. The result is a film that is certainly not perfect in terms of craftsmanship because I only taught myself everything in the last few months, but it is a film in which I invested a lot of time, love and energy???? I would therefore be very happy if you like the film and give me feedback so that I can do better next time:) I would also be happy if you give the film a thumbs up, comment on it or share it so that as many people as possible find out about it. And if you particularly liked the film, I would be happy to receive even the smallest amount via http://paypal.me/ReisefilmCOP29 or by bank transfer to DE95120300001206004176 (DKB Bank) to cover the costs incurred for the production a little bit???? With kind regards and thank you for your incredible support❤️ Ingwar Baku, November 16, 2024
