Come with us, count castles, or in Low German 'Kastelle telle'. We're glad you're here. The One Hundred Castles Route consists of a total of four circuits: the west, north, east and south routes. In this video we show you the south route, at 211 kilometers the shortest route with the greatest density of castles, palaces and manor houses. In part 1 we start at the very impressive Senden Castle. We discover the very worth seeing town of Nottuln. Over the moderately hilly Baumberge we continue to Billerbeck with its charming historical backdrop. Havixbeck surprises with its very interesting castle complex. After a total of 74 kilometers including all detours we reach Münster. We will take a closer look at the secret capital of Westphalia in part 2.
